Understanding the school calendar

Most schools follow the Southern Hemisphere calendar: classes start in late February or early March and end in December. Winter break runs July 20-31.

Only two schools follow the Northern Hemisphere calendar (August to June): Lincoln School and BAICA. For families staying 1-3 years who need curriculum continuity, these may be the only options.

Enrollment timeline

Enrollment season runs October to December for the March start. If you arrive mid-year, contact schools directly. Some accept rolling admissions. Most private schools require an entrance assessment in English and/or Math.
