Who works for whom
The agency works for the listing. The Scout works for you.
The listings are public. You can search them and contact them yourself, free, always. You never pay for access to listings.
What the listing's agency does
The agent or agency represents the listing and the owner: their interest is renting out that specific property. Their commission, where one exists, is charged by the listing side. We receive no part of that commission.
What the Scout does
The Scout works on the renter's side: finding and comparing options, translating messages, verifying terms, filtering out fraudulent or misleading listings, coordinating with owners or agents, and understanding the full cost before you move forward.
What is free
The search, the ranking, the analysis of any listing, and first-stage help: suitable options, red flags, terms explained. No registration, no payment.
What Premium Scout is
An optional service for people who want personal support the whole way: communication, checks, coordination, help with the decision, and accompaniment until you have the keys.
The fee is one month's rent, paid once, when you sign the lease. No signed lease, no fee, and it is the same whichever apartment you choose. It covers only the apartments the Scout was helping you with; whatever you find and close on your own costs nothing. Minimum USD 500. The terms are the same for everyone: starting takes a WhatsApp message, and with us there is nothing to sign or print. Until August 31 or the first 10 clients: half fee (the USD 500 minimum still applies).
Renting from abroad? The Scout visits the apartments for you, recording video or on a live call with you, and represents you fully, so you never need to be in the country. Remote visits carry a USD 199 deposit: it is returned in full when you pay the fee after getting the keys, and if you end up not renting it covers the visits already made.
Common requests
If you don't want to deal with agencies
On your own: browse the owner-direct listings, or type "direct from owner" in search. With the Scout: say you want owner-direct only; the Scout also verifies who actually publishes, because a listing sometimes says "owner" and an agency answers.
If you don't want to pay a listing commission
On your own: every listing shows the commission you would pay inside its total cost, even when the ad does not mention one. With the Scout: ask for commission-free options only.
If you don't have a local guarantor
This is often the real problem behind "no agencies". Long-term contracts in Buenos Aires usually ask for a garantía propietaria, a guarantee backed by a local resident's property; the common replacement is a seguro de caución, an insurance policy many owners accept. Caución providers have their own gate: generally registered income in Argentina (recent pay slips or a monotributo track record), a local ID and a credit check, so it mainly serves people already working formally here. If that is you, set your guarantee situation: we remove listings that only take the property guarantee and add the policy's cost to the total. If you just arrived and don't qualify yet: a larger deposit or months upfront, or temporario listings, which don't ask for a garantía. Want to see where that door is open first? Listings that accept a caución, neighborhood by neighborhood. With the Scout: say what you have, so they work only what you can actually sign.
If you don't want to pay anyone
Two parties can charge you here, and only one of them is ours. Our side is free and stays free: search, ranking, analysis, direct contact through the original listing, and talking to the Scout, which commits you to nothing. Paid work starts only if you ask for it; the terms are the ones above, the same for everyone. Nothing ever comes to the Scout from the listing side.
The other party is the listing's agency. Where one charges a commission, that commission is theirs, we receive no part of it, and it costs the same whether you come through us or write to the ad yourself: going direct is not what avoids it. What avoids it is a listing with no agency behind it, so if paying nobody at all is the goal, browse owner-direct listings: no agency, no commission. On every other listing, the commission you would pay is shown inside the total cost before you contact anyone.
The requests combine: for example, owner-direct that accepts a caución policy.
If anything is unclear, write to us on WhatsApp. And if you prefer to go direct: the original listing is always linked from every property page.
